Danny Tommo is awaiting trial. 

Lady Justice is blindfolded so that the evidence can be weighed impartially.Unfortunately, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood appears to have climbed into one of the pans delivering her own verdict, “XXXXXXXX XXXXXX!”

Perhaps she is merely helping the court with the difficult business of reaching its own conclusion.

Nothing says independent justice quite like a Cabinet minister announcing her verdict beforehand.

Even Lady Justice has lifted her blindfold to see who has climbed onto the scales.

The Home Secretary appears blissfully unaware of the bias her words convey.

A bad look - and a serious lapse of ministerial decorum.
