“We asked 1,000 people how Britain should solve the immigration crisis.”
Andy Burnham smiled, adjusted his dinghy-print shirt and confidently answered:

“THE MIDDLE CLASSES NEED TO TAKE THEIR FAIR SHARE.”

Of course they do.
Because nothing demonstrates political courage quite like surrendering control of the border -and then volunteering somebody else’s neighbourhood to absorb the consequences.

Somebody else’s street.
Somebody else’s school.
Somebody else’s GP surgery.
Somebody else’s housing supply.
Somebody else’s taxes.
Somebody else’s children.

But the virtue and compassion?
That belongs entirely to the politicians.
They created the failure.
They protected the failure.
They renamed the failure “compassion.”
Now they intend to distribute the consequences -while keeping the moral applause for themselves.

And if ordinary people object?
They will be lectured by the very politicians who never asked their permission, never secured the border and never intend to sacrifice anything personally.
This is not leadership. It is compulsory virtue at somebody else’s expense.
Government abandons its duty.
Politicians congratulate themselves.
The public is ordered to pay the bill-and warned not to complain about the service.
And the politicians?
They go home to neighbourhoods carefully insulated from their own compassion.
